I wasn't sure about trying another Texas Roadhouse after a bad experience at one close to home not too long ago. But thanks to the positive reviews here, I decided to give it a try. So glad I did. A big shout out to all the yelpers who posted reviews here. The wait was 30 minutes on a Sunday night before New Year's Eve. The waitress was a bit different, in that she didn't write down our orders but said she would get them right when she turned them in. Yes, the steaks were perfectly cooked. My wife had the 12 ounce sirlion and I had the 20 ounce bone-in ribeye, both medium well, and they were spot on. I enjoyed a Sam Adams Boston Lager with my meal and it was de-lic-ous ! Great job here.

We love Texas Roadhouse and frequent it on a regular basis near our home in Illinois. For my husbands birthday we decided to go to Texas Roadhouse in Hamilton Ohio when we were in Ohio for our kids' Showchoir event in Fairfield Ohio. The service was excellent (which is one reason we love our roadhouse). The hearty cut sirloin was out of this world! We order the same cut, cooked the same way, with the same sides every time. This particular visit our steaks practically melted in our mouths. They were so tender the could nearly be cut with a fork. Keep up the great job! Our server was Rhonda and we were table 224/1on February 28,2014. Rhonda made sure our drinks were full at all times. Thank you all for helping make my husband's birthday a happy one!

It's A-OK for what it is. And what it is is your typical, chain restaurant meat and potatoes pusher. The other three had steak. I went with the country fried chicken (gelatinous "country" gravy on the side, please), a baked sweet potato which is decent with the cinnamon butter, and green beans. The green beans seemed to be experiencing some sort of identity crisis. They looked like frozen green beans that you steam at home. But, then maybe you tossed them in a pot of watery bacon and onion broth. Not southern style and not...not. Just weird. And their beer selection made me want to cry unhappy tears. The service was really great, though. Overall, Texas Roadhouse won't shake your soul or rattle your bones. The music, however, may make you want to throw your beer mug at the wall and start a brawl. Fair warning.

Good steak at a decent price. I can recommend the burgers as well. The staff and management are friendly and prompt. They are very accommodating with special requests as well. The ribs and pork chops are also excellent choices if you prefer pork to beef. The food quality control is very good. I would consider Texas Roadhouse being of comparable style and price to Logan's. Steakhouse Texas Roadhouse ranks well above Logan's in steak quality and preparation. If you are looking for the very best (and willing to pay accordingly) The Precinct, Ruth's or Morton's should be your choice.

This isn't the type of eatery I'd go to, really ever. I hate most chains, particularly when it comes to steak. If I'm getting a steak I want a good steak. Dry aged, tender, juicy, etc. I would rather pay more than get a steak that's either chemically aged or not aged at all. But sometimes you have no say in where you eat. As such, I ended up at the Texas Roadhouse, a chain from whose parking lot you can see an infinite amount of other chains. It was enough to bring tears of pain to my eyes. All those places with terrible, microwaved food. The ambiance wasn't really what I go for, either. True to the name, this was all country and western. And cheap, I need to stress cheap. There were paper snowflakes hanging from the ceiling and that super cheap fabric snow everywhere. It looked like the late 70s. Just fake fabric snow haphazardly tossed everywhere. Ordering is a chore, too. The menu very clearly states what each temperature translates to (e.g., "medium rare: warm pink center), but obviously Texas Roadhouse feels its customers are idiots so every single steak ordered is followed with the waitress repeating the desired temperature, what color it is, and asking if this is ok. For a large group this is ridiculously repetitive. As a whole ordering is pretty drawn out. "I'd like the 9oz filet cooked medium rare." "Medium rare: warm with a pink center. Is that ok?" "Yes, I said medium rare. I'd like it with..." "would you your steak smothered with onions or cheese?" "No. I'd like..." "Your steak comes with two sides. Which would you like?" "I'd like a baked sweet potato..." "Baked sweet potato. Would you like that smothered with marshmallows and caramel sauce?" "Caramel? What? No. I'd also like..." "What would you like for your other side?" "Jesus, I was just getting to that. Life would be easier if you just let me say 'filet, medium rare, with a sweet potato and carrots." It's like ordering from a robot. And while this may sound nit-picky, when you're in a party of 12 people the ordering process goes on forever as everyone is repeatedly asked the same questions, all of which are in the menu. The waitress is trained to interrupt you constantly to make sure you know every tiny bit of the order rather than let you actually order and then ask any questions as needed. On to the food. The rolls brought out with cinnamon butter were cardboardy. My steak was cooked right but ridiculously dry. I've made this complaint at several places now, but it was amazing to get a medium rare steak, a little purple in the middle, and not have a drop of blood on the plate after. Not a single drop of juice anywhere. Others got the smaller filet and had plenty of juice, so this was an issue with the larger filets. Perhaps they don't sell as many. I understand that not everyone can afford to go to Jeff Ruby's, Celestial, or wherever. But there still has to be better options than this. My steak was edible. That's what I'm calling it. Edible. it was tender, but not juicy or flavorful.

What a SCAM :( I really like TR food. Mostly consistent as far as quality. However I think service is EQUALLY important! This year my son, (an elementary student) and I decided to participate in his schools annual TR fundraiser. Texas Roadhouse made white fundraiser folders to use to collect funds for gift cards. The envelopes made by TR specifically listed " Top 3 Seller sellers get to eat free for a year!" So I called the restaurant and spoke to a server who took my name down for Robin their Marketing person to call me back. She never did. The in leu of her absence server, young man, told me the winning children would get a deputy card for free meals. Awesome! P.S Robin did not call me back. We sold over 500 dollars and he won! Except, when we just went out to eat tonight they told us they would not credit my sons meal. But his meal was under the children's 12 and under menu! Why? Because the children's menu, 12 and under, is broken down into two parts kids meals and ranger meals. The ranger meals are 3 dollars more than the macaroni and cheese or hotdog meals. But they are all in the same box on the menu all of which you have to be under 12 to order... Therefore a kid. If your in elementary school your not a toddler you may want to get a real kids steak of rib basket. But they won't cover for your child to get a meal that's designated for 12 and under because it says ranger meal, even though it's under kids section of meal. Ridiculous. The envelopes said Winner eats free for a year at Texas Roadhouse. I called before participating in the fundraiser and was never called back. I was told by a server my son would get a card where he could eat free for a year. But when it came down to it, Steve the manager was fine with telling me my kid couldn't eat off of the COMPLETE 12& under meal, and that he didn't care what the envelopes said. Steve's response to falsely advertising - " If parents want to know the details of the reward they can call." Really Steve? I did! Honor your word. Hold up to your part of the deal. There's a thing called integrity and principal and this restaurant isn't measuring up in either category. Will be uploading a photo of the envelope once I get to work on Monday. I'll also be calling the schools as well as Corporate!

The noise level is good not loud. Peanut shells on the floor. If you have and allergy to peanuts you might want to call ahead and ask if they have a section for you. The house salad is tasty as are the biscuits. Beer cold. Knives are jumbo size so they may not fit a small handed person well. The place is so far so good. The waiter I asked how spicy the bbq was and brought a small sample of the sauce for me to try. This was helpful.

The staff here is extremely attentive, happy, and good natured. Food is excellent and well priced. They obviously have the training and education in the management here to pull it all together for a fun, enjoyable and tasty dining experience!! Will return when back in the area and highly recommend it to travelers through the area!!

Roadhouse is always pretty good. The service we have usually is pretty good and if they have a wait it's not super long. On the weekends I recommend making a reservation if you don't feel like waiting around. The bar is fun to sit at and the drinks are usually pretty good. Nice beer selection and the bartenders are pretty knowledgable. The specialty drinks are yummy. I love the cinnamon butter that comes with rolls. Today I ordered the beef tips with mashed potatoes, I liked it much more than the sirloin I normally get. The mushrooms and onions that were with the tips were very very good. Good service tonight, she made sure we all had drinks and our food came pretty quick for the amount of people they had in tonight. Good job roadhouse!

Fast service and great food! Steak is always amazing!! Their food is just as good as other steakhouses that charge much more.

I don't usually visit chain steak restaurants, but when I do, I go to Texas Roadhouse. For quality of items and overall value, Texas Roadhouse stacks up higher than the other sub-par places (like Outback, ugh). You cannot go wrong with the classic steak dinner or the barbecue chicken. This is a good spot for a quick dinner during the week.

Absolutely disappointing. I will never go again. Ordered Sirloin & BBQ Chicken, and Shrimp & Chicken. The shrimp was okay. The chicken was tough and the sirloin which I ordered medium-rare was thoroughly overcooked, tough and covered with a liquid smoke flavored sauce. Food at other locations of this chain has been fairly good but this night at this location was pretty bad. The service was acceptable but the staff started cleaning nearby tables with bleach while we were still eating at 9pm.

Good reasonably priced steakhouse... The cinnamon butter for the rolls is very good. Kick back relax and just throw your peanut shells on the floor while you wait for your food!!!

This is truly my favorite restaurant! The salads are awesome. I get the sirloin steak. Love love love it

This place SUCKS. NON-wheelchair 10 minutes. Over 90 minutes wait. How is this legal.

Absolutely love this place! Sure the wait times can be long and sometimes the waiters and waitresses can be a little behind, but I've always been treated with great care and they offer call ahead seating! The food and experience is well worth the wait! Great cut of steaks for the price, appetizers are great, homemade dressings, Etc. Even there carry out is convenient and quick! Favorite place to eat. 5 stars

Not too bad but really hit and miss as far as able to get in at times and can be a long wait. The food is okay but what you would expect from a food chain, although I do think it is a little pricey for what you receive.

I've been here a couple of times and the service is always great no matter how busy it may be. We're started with our drinks and dinner rolls with cinnamon butter. I LOVE the cinnamon butter! I tried the ribeye, sirloin and Dallas filet, but the Dallas filet is definitely my favorite. You really can't go wrong with any of the steaks they have, it really depends on how you like your steak. It's nothing over the top, but you can always get a steak fix here! We also tried the blossom for a starter, which is always recommended and I only gave in to it once, it's a fried onion, so it makes it a little healthier, right? No, but it was pretty good! Their sides are simple, but still good. I liked the sweet potato and the corn on the cob with garlic butter and seasoning, yummy!

Texas roadhouse is always our go to steakhouse in the tri-state area. The call ahead seating experience is better than any other steakhouse in the area. Their food is always excellent, and the staff is superb. Highly recommend!

We went for the first time & were treated like king & queen. Our waitress was Becky was so awsome!!! Since this was our first time there she made several suggestions for appetizers. We chose the cats blossom & enjoyed it very much. My husband had a rib eye (10 oz), medium rare, right on the money, steak fries & a house salad. He enjoyed it very much. I had the 6 oz sirloin, house salad & bake sweet potato with cinnamon butter. Oh my, was it ever good!!! My steak was cooked just right. Our bill was under $40, which both of us thought was very good. Ready to go back again!!

I was starving after a long day of flying and craving a steak. This was the closest place to my hotel. I've eaten at one of these before so I knew what to expect for the most part. Food is good and served quickly. Beer was cheap @ $3.00 for a 22 oz and I was drinking Yuengling ( BONUS). Steak was tender and flavorful if not just a little over salted, but still good. Fast and effcicient, just like you expect a chain to be. I found the constant screaming from the waitstaff about " So and so is here for their 10th Bday, 36 year anniversary", etc. ANNOYING.

Felt like a steak so I tried this chain as I never been to one before. The service was great. The salad with homemade dressing was good. The sides that came with the entree was great too. The reason it only gets 3 stars is the steak itself wasn't that good. I was expecting a great piece of prime rib but it wasnt and for a steak house that is bad. I would go back for just a salad and the sides though but not for steaks.

Though the place has been super busy every time I've gone, the service is always excellent. The portion sizes are large and with one glaring exception, the food has always been really good. It's one of the better steak houses in NKY.

TRH is your run of the mill normal family chain with the exception of having the MOST amazing cinnamon-butter rolls. Needless to say i was won over by the first bite and now as a repeat offender & must spread the word! I am generally not a fan of family style restaurants, but TRH has something special, something frozen-- yes, a very delicious and cheap margarita!! My husband and I are always surprised at how attentive and nice the wait staff is, along with how quickly our meals get served. I have been to this location ~4x and I can say that will continue my patronage ( especially since one night the bartender made an extra set of drinks and was kind enough to bring them to the table on the house! )

Since the Texas Roadhouse in Western Hills got closed, I've been going to this one because it's the closest one to me. It's worth the drive. The staff is very friendly. Obviously, the food is awesome. I have absolutely no complaints about this place.

This was 0ur 3rd visit to this location. Arriving one hour before close on a Sunday night we walked in to an almost empty restraint. The host sat us as soon as we walked in and our server Chad was right there taking a drink order. I asked if the coffee was fresh? Chad said he'd be happy to make fresh for us because it probably was not. We appreciated his honesty. He quickly returned with 2 waters and asked if we wanted an appetizer? Patty ordered a Deep fried onion WELL DONE. Just a FEW short minutes later Chad showed up with a great cup of HOT FRESH coffee. Nice move Chad. While making our entree' order Patty asked if the TR served slaw with the barbecue sandwich. Chad said he was sorry but they do not. My wife said that seemed strange, slaw goes with barbecue doesn't it. Chad agreed that he liked to put his slaw on his barbecue we all laughed as he apologized again for the lack of slaw. Barbecue Sandwich and fries for Patty and Sirloin tips medium rare with house salad Italian dressing and mash potatoes for R.J. The well done to perfection fried onion arrived in another few minutes and we quickly realized our eyes were bigger then our stomachs. Chad said that happens a lot around here. With half the appetizer gone we asked for a box. Chad delivered and returned with our main course. A heaping helping of barbecue over flowing the huge fresh HOT bun. Along with a large dish of HOT medium rare sirloin tips gravy onions and a large serving of mashed potato's. I asked Chad if we could have extra butter and brown gravy. He said sure and before we could dig in he was back with both. We barely got halfway through our meals and decided we'd need to-go boxes. Chad brought 2 boxes and asked if we needed more coffee. Patty said sure. Chad returned in less then a minute to say someone had already tossed the fresh coffee he'd made and said he'd be happy to make more but it would take a few minutes. Again We appreciated his prompt honesty. We said that was fine all we needed was a check. The Check was reasonable with 20%+ tip $33. We will return to Texas Roadhouse again when it is not so busy and when we can sit in Chads section. He reminded us not to forget our boxes people do that a lot around here.

Great casual eating, the service is always prompt and friendly, the prices good for the quality of food offered. The meat cuts seem to be very good, and I have never tasted anything there that seemed less than excellent quality. I have enjoyed the salmon, chicken, catfish, steaks, burgers, and several sides and salads, and all were very good. The place is clean and the employees friendly, there is a 'fun' atmosphere, with buckets of peanuts in the shell to munch on at the bar, or at your table while you wait for your meal. If you go at a busy time (esp Fri or Sat eve) prepare to be waiting a while, but you can phone ahead to get on 'the list' (not really reservations, but you are ahead of whoever may arrive after your call, and they will also give you an idea of the wait time...if you do not show when your name is called, you go back to the end of the list...) to cut wait time.

My dad loves steak and since this is the closest steakhouse in our area I have eaten here many times. Sometimes the steak is really good, sometimes it's just pretty good. There are better steakhouses for around the same price in my opinion, so I'm only giving them 3 stars. I will say that the service is always good, and the portions are pretty good also. I'd recommend it to anyone in the Ft. Wright/ Independence area who doesn't feel like driving too far and is in the mood for steak.

The service was good and fast. The food was pretty good but I have tasted better ribs. The bread they serve as they seat you-a staple for them was hard. That is where they lost a star for me.

  • Robert L.

The service was good and the food came to the table hot and fast. Once it arrived the food was mediocre at best. My steak was over seasoned and the vegetables were under cooked. It is pretty much like all of the other restaurants of this genre.

The restaurant I deliver for and TR usually have a very good relationship; however, this past time TR ordered, they ordered twelve of our largest pizzas for delivery costing around $365 (with a discount), and the manager DIDN'T tip me. It took me 4 trips to carry in the entire order, trying to make my way around all of their guests, and they handed me exact change. The manager on duty was angry we didn't want to trade food with them, even though they still got a 20% discount. Working in the food industry themselves, you would think they would have had the decency to tip THEIR server, me, but they did not. I was extremely baffled by the entire thing, and if I ever get an order from TR again, you better believe I will not be the one bringing it to them. I also won't be eating there again and neither will any of my friends or family for that matter. If you cannot tip me for my hard work, why should I give your company or servers my hard earned cash?

Call ahead waiting was interesting...and important for groups. We had a group of 10 for dinner on a Wednesday night. Well the place opens at 4pm, you have to call at 4pm, and wow, they are packed by 430pm. But they had our space saved for us. The server was friendly, quick, and good at what she does. We appreciated that. I ordered steak tips, sweet potato and green beans. It was really good. They bring your table baskets of yeast rolls which is always a delightful smell and mouth watering good taste.

We came here on a Saturday night and WOW! it was packed. Good thing we arrived a little early (4:30) because there was already a 45 minute wait. However, I will say, it was packed inside to wait but they had a buzzer system that we could take to the car. Once we got seated, our service was excellent!!! Every single table was full but you couldn't tell that by the service or how quick we got our food. I recommended really reading the menu though. My boyfriend and I split one meal because it was cheaper than two meals and we got the same amount of food. One word, Ribs. YUMMMM. Highly recommend!!! Will be back

Alright, yes, I get it. I ate at a chain. And not just your usual chain, a Walmart-family loving, eat-as-much-as-you-can, go 'Merica! chain. SUE ME. Texas Roadhouse knows what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything else. The steaks, sides and everything else are as-advertised, i.e., Texas-sized. I will tell you I"ve never had a bad steak here. I've never had a great steak here either. But if you're coming here, you're not coming for the best steak in the world. Here's a couple things I love: steak portions are generous, the cinnamon butter is amazing the mixed drinks are strooooooooooooooooooong. Things I don't like: it's always freaking crowded and it makes me feel bad about myself for eating there. That said, I'll probably go again when I feel the need for a cheap steak. Go "Merica. and now i'm off to go shoot some guns and slam a Bud Light to keep the terrorists at bay.
